High-Deposition Build-Up Wire for Rebuilding Worn Components

Eagle 530FGS is a premium gas-shielded flux-cored build-up wire designed for rebuilding worn components and providing a strong, machinable underlay before hardfacing.

With a deposited hardness of approximately 28–32 HRC, Eagle 530FGS provides excellent impact resistance and metal-to-metal wear resistance while remaining machinable. It is suitable for use on low, medium and high-carbon steels and can be welded in all positions.

Ideal for maintenance, heavy equipment, agriculture, mining and industrial repair, Eagle 530FGS is well suited for rebuilding hard bars, idlers, pins, sprockets, rollers, rail ends, ditcher segments and ditcher rails.

Build It Back. Then Protect It.

Clean the weld area thoroughly and remove worn, cracked or fatigued metal before rebuilding. A grinder may be used, or Eagle 188 airless gouging electrodes can be used where additional material removal is required.

Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining approximately 1/2"–5/8" stick-out. Apply either stringer beads or weave beads depending on the application and required build-up.

Eagle 530FGS is an all-position, gas-shielded flux-cored wire designed specifically for build-up and underlay applications.

Its approximately 28–32 HRC deposit provides a combination of toughness, impact resistance and metal-to-metal wear resistance while remaining machinable.

Why Eagle 530FGS?

Machinable build-up deposit — rebuild worn components without creating an excessively hard surface that cannot be machined.

Excellent underlay wire — provides a strong foundation before applying harder wear-resistant alloys.

High deposition rate — wire-feed productivity makes it well suited for larger rebuilding jobs.

Built for worn equipment — excellent for pins, sprockets, rollers, idlers and other components that need material restored before final hardfacing.

Why Build Up Before Hardfacing?

This is the section I would definitely add.
When a component is badly worn, applying hardfacing directly over the entire worn area can be expensive and may create an unnecessarily thick hardfacing deposit.

Eagle 530FGS is used to rebuild the component closer to its original profile first. A harder wear-resistant alloy such as 561GL, 563GL, 606 or 636 can then be applied as the final protective layer where required.

In simple terms:
530FGS = rebuild the missing material
Hardfacing = protect the rebuilt surface from wear
