Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining approximately 1½" stick-out, plus or minus ¼". Apply either stringer beads or weave beads depending on the application.
For best results, limit the deposit to a maximum of two layers.

Eagle 563GL is a high-chromium, self-shielded hardfacing wire engineered for severe wear applications where external shielding gas is not practical or desired.

Its open-arc formulation produces a hard, abrasion-resistant weld deposit of approximately 59–63 Rockwell C while eliminating the need for shielding gas.

Choose Eagle 563GL when you want the productivity of wire hardfacing and the convenience of no shielding gas.

Choose Eagle 606 or 636 when stick welding is more practical, especially for smaller repairs, field work with a stick machine, or applications where wire-feed equipment is not available.
