Extreme Abrasion Resistance at Elevated Temperatures

Eagle 673 Chrome Plus is a premium hardfacing electrode designed for components exposed to extreme abrasion and erosion at elevated temperatures. It produces a very hard wear-resistant deposit of approximately 63–65 HRC, helping extend component life in severe service conditions.

Unlike conventional hardfacing alloys that can lose performance as temperatures rise, Eagle 673 is designed to maintain strong abrasion resistance at temperatures up to approximately 1600°F.

Ideal for industrial applications involving abrasive materials such as coal, ore, sand, cement and gravel, Eagle 673 is well suited for wear surfaces exposed to both aggressive abrasion and high operating temperatures.

Designed for components subject to extremely high abrasion and erosion at temperatures up to approximately 1600°F.

AC or DC Reverse [+] Polarity

Clean the weld area thoroughly and remove fatigued or damaged metal before hardfacing. Use grinding where practical, or Eagle 188 airless gouging electrodes where additional material removal is required.

Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining a short arc length. Apply either stringer beads or weave beads depending on the application.

All welding should be performed in the flat or horizontal position, and no more than three layers should be deposited on top of one another.

Eagle 673 Chrome Plus is a high-quality hard-surfacing electrode engineered for excellent weldability and extreme wear resistance.

Its approximately 63–65 HRC deposit makes it one of the hardest products in your stick hardfacing lineup, while its ability to resist abrasion and erosion at elevated temperatures gives it a very specialized advantage.
