Eagle E71T-1/9M is a premium gas-shielded rutile flux-cored wire designed for all-position welding of mild and carbon steels. It delivers a smooth, stable arc, excellent bead appearance, easy slag removal and strong out-of-position performance.

Designed for structural fabrication, heavy equipment, construction and general steel fabrication where productivity and operator appeal are important.

Rutile T-1 wires are commonly used for high-deposition, all-position FCAW and operate on DCEP.

Eagle E71T-1/9M is an all-position, gas-shielded rutile flux-cored welding wire for joining mild and carbon steels.

The rutile flux system provides excellent operator appeal with a smooth arc, low spatter, fast-freezing slag and easy slag removal. It performs especially well in vertical and overhead welding while still delivering high deposition rates in flat and horizontal positions. Comparable rutile E71T-1M/-9M wires are widely used for structural steel, heavy fabrication, mining equipment, shipbuilding and general steel construction.

Its dual AWS A5.20 E71T-1M / E71T-9M classification provides the familiar welding characteristics of an E71T-1M wire with the improved impact-property requirements associated with E71T-9M

PROCEDURE PROCEDURE

Clean the weld area of excessive oil, grease, moisture and other contaminants. Use DCEP polarity and the recommended Ar/CO₂ shielding gas.

Maintain the recommended contact-tip-to-work distance and use stringer beads or controlled weave techniques as required by the joint and welding position. For vertical welding, use vertical-up progression unless otherwise specified by the welding procedure.

Remove slag between passes.
