Tungsten Carbide Spray Powder for Severe Abrasion and Wear

Eagle P-22 is a high-quality tungsten carbide spray powder in a tough nickel-base matrix, designed for hardfacing applications where severe abrasive wear is a concern.

It is well suited for protecting and rebuilding components such as mixer paddles, pug mill knives, augers, cultivator shovels, ash chutes, hog hammers, guide nozzles, plungers, valves and debarker knives.

With a hardness of approximately 60–64 HRC, Eagle P-22 provides a hard, wear-resistant coating for steel, nickel-alloy and cast-iron components.

Tungsten Carbide. Severe Wear Protection. Built for Abrasion.

Eagle P-22 Specification Sheet

Eagle P-22 is recommended for:

Mixer paddles
Pug mill knives
Augers
Cultivator shovels
Ash chutes
Chains
Hog hammers
Guide nozzles
Plungers
Valves
Debarker knives
Steel components
Nickel-alloy components
Cast iron

Designed for hardfacing applications where severe abrasion and wear resistance are important.

Clean the surface thoroughly and remove oil, grease, scale and oxides.

Use a grinder where required to prepare the base metal.
Preheat the base metal to approximately 400°F.

Use a 1–1½" slightly carburizing flame and pre-spray the area to be coated to approximately 0.004" thickness.

Release the feed lever and heat until a sweating action occurs.

Weave the torch and add Eagle P-22 powder until the required dimension or coating thickness is achieved.

Allow the component to cool slowly.

Eagle P-22 is a gritty tungsten carbide powder in a tough nickel-base matrix designed for hardfacing steels, nickel alloys and cast iron.

Its combination of hard tungsten carbide particles and a tough nickel matrix provides strong resistance to abrasive wear while maintaining enough toughness to support the carbide structure.

Why Eagle P-22?

High hardness — approximately 60–64 HRC.

Tungsten carbide wear resistance — built for severe abrasive service.

Tough nickel-base matrix — supports the carbide particles and improves coating integrity.

Broad base-metal capability — suitable for steels, nickel alloys and cast iron.

Excellent for wear components — ideal for augers, knives, paddles, valves and other high-wear parts.
