Chromium Boron Spray Powder for High Heat, Corrosion and Edge Build-Up

Eagle P-99 is a high-quality chromium boron spray powder in a tough nickel-base matrix designed for hardfacing steels, nickel alloys and cast iron.

It is well suited for components such as die cutters, mandrels, tool rests, cams, screws, molds, camshafts, valve seats, chains, drill collars and augers.

With a hardness of approximately 58–62 HRC, Eagle P-99 provides a hard wear-resistant deposit with excellent edge build-up. The finished coating is also corrosion resistant and non-magnetic and resists softening at elevated temperatures.

Designed for applications requiring hardness, wear resistance, edge retention and elevated-temperature performance.

Clean the surface thoroughly and remove oil, grease and scale.

Use a grinder to remove oxides where required.

Preheat the base metal to approximately 400°F.

Use a 1–1½" slightly carburizing flame and pre-spray the area to approximately 0.004" thickness.

Release the feed lever and heat until a sweating action occurs.

Weave the torch and add Eagle P-99 powder until the required dimension is achieved.

Allow the component to cool slowly.

Eagle P-99 is a chromium boron spray powder in a tough nickel-base matrix designed for hardfacing steels, nickel alloys and cast iron.

The alloy produces a hard 58–62 HRC deposit that resists softening at high temperatures and provides excellent edge build-up. The finished deposit is also corrosion resistant and non-magnetic.

So the simple positioning is:
P-66 = severe abrasion with tungsten carbide
P-99 = hard chromium-boron wear protection with corrosion and high-heat resistance
